Vellanad Community Health Center which is under the Vellanad Block Panchayath started its function in 1968 as "Mahathma Gandhi Memorial Primary Health Center". In 1997 this facility upgraded as Community Health Center. There is an inpatient department which has 31 beds to admit patients. The number of patients who visit daily at out -patient department and causality are 600 to 650 and 100 to 130 respectively. This hospital, which has 24 hours doctor service, has a daily average of 30 to 35 inpatients. Basic laboratory test facilities are also available here in Vellanad community health center.Besides the treatment of diseases | vellanad community health center has been conducting programs such as preventive activities, family welfare activities, health awareness programs, cattaract diagnosis camps etc . The field activities have been being implemented under the supervision of Health Supervisor and Lady Health Supervisor. There are four family welfare centers under Vellanad community health center. Of which, only one has its own building. |
